News From the Elders - July '23 Recap
PRAISING THE LORD FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
During the week of July 17 - 21, our campus was filled with hundreds of joyous and excited children participating in Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme was “Twists and Turns.” The kids learned throughout the week that Jesus always walks with them through the twists and turns of life. Over 400 children attended and were well taken care of by over 200 volunteers. During the close of the week, 38 children made a first-time decision to place their faith and trust in Jesus, and another 140 kids rededicated their lives to following Him. All praise, honor, and glory be given to our Lord Jesus Christ.
THANKFUL FOR THE IMPACT OF JUNIOR HIGH AND PIER 56 SUMMER CAMPS
34 Junior Highers attended Summer Camp in Santa Cruz from July 10 - 14. The theme of the camp was “Jesus is Enough”. In addition, 22 fifth and sixth graders were encouraged at Hartland Christian Camp from July 5 - 8. A number of students made first-time decisions to put their faith and trust in Christ and many more dedicated their lives to following Jesus in a more committed way. Praise the Lord for what He is doing in and through our Student Ministries at RCC.
CELEBRATING A MEANINGFUL YOUNG ADULTS RETREAT
Our Young Adults ministry spent July 24 - 27 at Lake Lopez for a mini retreat. An introspective time for each person to examine their personal walk with Jesus was mixed in with great fun, fellowship, and food. Continue praying for the Lord to do a great work in our young adults at RCC.
REJOICING IN THE SHORT-TERM TRIP TO ALBANIA
A team of four RCC people participated with CRU Staff and people from Patterson Park Church in Dayton, Ohio, to host an English Camp for Albanian nationals. Over 100 Albanian nationals participated in the camp that took place from July 9 - 20. The curriculum used for the camp was biblically based and combined with the daily activities led to many conversations about Jesus. By the end of the camp, 17 people claimed to put their faith and trust in Jesus. Praise the Lord for using our team halfway around the world for His Kingdom purposes.
THANKFUL FOR WORSHIP NIGHT
On July 28, several of our High School and Junior High students led our congregation in a special night of praise and worship. The worship night was the culmination of a seven-week mentorship and training program these kids called “Arise.” This is the third year that RCC has hosted the Arise mentorship program and we are very excited about the team of young people being raised up with a heart to lead worship.
“And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lod Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
