News from the Elders: March '23 Recap
PRAISING THE LORD FOR AN AMAZING TRIP TO ISRAEL
Recently, 54 of our people at RCC returned from an amazing 10-day trip to the Holy Land in Israel. Besides visiting many of the sites where Jesus walked, and seeing where several stories we read about in the Bible took place, the group was treated to amazing teaching from Matt Vorhees, Dave Champness, and Brent Van Elswyk and formed lifelong friendships. Each of the Israel travelers will tell you this was a trip of a lifetime and they will never read Scripture the same again. And, there is more exciting news to share with you. We have already committed to taking another group to Israel on November 6-15, 2023. If you are interested in more info about this November trip, please contact Carrie Casallas in the church office.
RCC HOSTS AN ENCOURAGING MARRIAGE EVENT
On March 10-11, RCC hosted 75 couples at the Heart & Soul Marriage Event in the Main Auditorium. The featured speakers were Chris and Alisa Grace who serve as the Directors of the Center for Marriage and Family Relationships at Biola University. The two-day event was designed to help couples improve their spiritual and emotional intimacy in the context of a Biblical marriage. Please pray for the couples who attended the event and ask the Lord to continue pouring His grace over them concerning their marriage relationships.
WELCOME NEW MEMBERS TO RCC
We are pleased to welcome 18 new members, who recently attended the Membership Session on March 19. Membership is offered twice a year and encourages each participant to embrace our commitment to discipleship, and our Statement of Faith and Core Values. One of the highlights of each session is the opportunity for Elders/Pastors to hear the spiritual stories of each participant during dinner time.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.”
