News from the Elders: September 2021
CELEBRATING GOD’S PROVISION AT THE ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
We want to thank all of you who joined us for our annual Congregational Meeting on September 19. The meeting was highlighted by a celebration of God’s provision this past year and a presentation of the vision and corresponding budget plan FY 2021-22. By an overwhelming majority, the FY 2021-22 budget was approved and three Elder candidates, George Buell, Rob Black and Darrell Feil, were accepted. We look forward to a fruitful and productive year as we faithfully serve the Lord for His Glory and Kingdom purposes.
REJOICING IN BIBLICAL LAY COUNSELOR GRADUATES
On August 29, RCC held a special ceremony in our morning Worship Services to commission 63 new Biblical Lay Counseling graduates. These graduates had just completed a two-year training and equipping program through the People Encouraging People ministry. The majority of the new counselors were from RCC, however, representatives from 18 other local churches were a part of the graduating class. Praise the Lord for each of these newly trained and equipped Lay Counselors.
THANKFUL FOR THE COMMUNITY GROUP CONNECTION LUNCH
As a follow-up to the “Connect” Sermon Series at the end of August, the Community Group Ministry hosted a Connection Lunch on September 12. The lunch was designed to connect people who were not currently participating in small groups to an existing or new Community Group Leader. The event was a huge success and 70 people were personally connected to a Community Group to start the Fall Season at RCC.
ENCOURAGING PARTICIPATION IN PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH
October is Pastor Appreciation month and it has been our tradition to recognize and thank our Pastoral Staff for their commitment to love and shepherd our church family. We encourage you to begin thinking now regarding how you might express your appreciation to these faithful servants of our Savior and Lord, Jesus.
“Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice.”
